Early 2013

More substantially, I had noticed that in peeling small citrus fruit, a tangerine or clementine I was trying to retain the peel in a single sheet, respecting the topology of the sphere. I acquired a CNC machine and considered what I might draw on the surface of the fruit before peeling it.

The isolation of working in a research driven framework without a team of colleagues seemed very hard to sustain and I looked around at MA courses between London and Portsmouth, between Bournemouth and Brighton. I fixed on Winchester principally for its superb library. As I was preparing to register for my MA I decided that I should at least prepare by understanding what was involved in preparing work for exhibition. I put up my first show at the Flora Twort gallery in Petersfield, part of the Hampshire Museums Service. The show was called Metageography.
